Developing apps is a passion I have in my spare time.
My main job is as a production engineer for television in Hamburg.
I control and supervise technology and studio environments during the production of television productions. Cameras should deliver beautiful pictures with strong colours and contrasts, microphones should reproduce the voices of the actors powerfully, complex networked devices and automations should show for example graphics or films at the right moment.

All in all a very technical profession, whose focus is on the design and interconnection of technology.

The history of DeviceJockey begins after I was asked by a friend of mine to control a Blackmagic Videohub. The sources of several destinations were to switch simultaneously on a tap of a button. My goal was a flexible user interface and buttons with definable commands. Several video hubs should be controllable at the same time.

Over time, the requirements grew. I added the Midi protocol and the OSC protocol as a control option.

In addition to the button, control elements such as sliders, rotators, switches, etc. were added.

These elements can not only control the environment, but offer the possibility to be controlled from the environment, which brings further interesting possibilities with it.

I hope that I can inspire you with the possibilities of the DeviceJokey. Try the app with pleasure!
