Behind DeviceJockey

Olaf Claußen

DeviceJockey began with Olaf’s idea. It is his project, and he develops and owns the app. Developing software is a passion he pursues alongside his work as a production engineer for television in Hamburg.

His work involves controlling and supervising technical systems and studio environments during television productions. Cameras, microphones, control systems, and production software all need to work together reliably. This practical perspective shapes DeviceJockey as a flexible control surface that can connect equipment and applications from different areas.

Support and collaboration

People who help DeviceJockey grow.

Basti and Simon support Olaf and the DeviceJockey project with their experience, practical perspective, ideas, and help.

Simon Kouker

Simon works as a sound engineer and live sound engineer and is also a musician. He is interested in new tools and in configuring systems that make professional work easier.

His software knowledge and his work as a production engineer for German television give him a practical view of audio, broadcast workflows, and technical integration. He supports DeviceJockey from this professional perspective.

Basti Crome

Basti is a musician, composer, producer, and director from Hamburg. In his productions, he looks for smooth and efficient ways to control creative workflows.

His experience with applications such as Logic Pro and OBS gives him a user-focused perspective on individual control surfaces. He supports DeviceJockey with this creative and production-oriented view.

The idea

One control surface for different worlds.

DeviceJockey is designed for people who do not want to adapt their workflow to a fixed remote. It lets them build their own panels and combine devices, protocols, and applications on one control surface.

Rooted in practiceBroadcast, audio, music, and production experience influence the project.
Built for individual workflowsPanels can be adapted to the task instead of the other way around.
Continuously developedPractical use, feedback, and new ideas help shape the next improvements.
